Currently, U.S. shark finning regulations are not consistent on both coasts. To fix this problem and a few others, the House of Representatives recently passed the Shark Conservation Act of 2008 and Senator Kerry introduced the Senate companion bill, S. 3231, which would require sharks to be landed with their fins attached in all U.S. waters. It is time for the Senate to pass this bill.
Sharks are in grave danger worldwide, so please tell your Senator to vote yes on the Shark Conservation Act of 2008 - and if you are a diver, make sure to edit the letter to include some of your dive experiences!
